CASE 3
Cytology report: Inflammatory smear with many granulocytes, red blood cells, histiocytes, cellular debris and pus. No epithelial cells. The aspirate was reported in category C2 and suggest an abces.
Needle core biopsy report: Fibro-adipous breast tissue with periductal lymphocytic inflammatory reaction, liponecrosis and abces. Absence of cancer or proliferative epithelial changes. The NCB was reported in category B2.
Triple assessment:
- Clinic: very suspicious of diffuse neoplastic involvement.
- Mammography: negative.
- Ultrasound: suspicious abnormality.
- Cytology: representative, adequate sample, benign, abces.
- NCB: representative, adequate sample, benign, abces.
Ccl: medical treatment with antibiotics.
Further treatment: follow-up.
